Korean Samyang Hot Chicken Flavor Ramen (불닭볶음면, Buldak Bokkeum myun) Brand Story

The Birth of Hot Chicken Flavor Ramen

In 2011, when soup-based ramen was popular in Korea, Samyang Foods CEO Kim Jeong-soo was passing by Myeong-dong Street and accidentally found that a spicy hot chicken restaurant was crowded with people.

He got an idea from this and thought that spicy things could be deliciously spicy, so the development of hot chicken stir-fried noodles began with the motif of 'spiciness, chicken, stir-fried noodles'.

Employees of the marketing department and research institute went around and tasted hot chicken, grilled giblets, chicken feet, and other famous restaurants for their spicy taste, and researched various hot peppers in each country to develop a ‘delicious spicy sauce’ that matches the intense Korean spicy taste.

After tasting 2 tons of spicy sauce and cooking 1,200 chickens, and researching for 12 months, they found the best mixing ratio and developed Hot Chicken Flavor Ramen. It is also known as Hot Chicken Stir-fried Noodles.
